Proposal Excellence

Learning our customer as a logistics professional

The optimal solution will differ by customer. That's exactly why at Alps Logistics we prioritize learning our customers as a foundation of our service. With our focus always firmly on the customer, we familiarize ourselves with the work sites unique to each customer in order to understand what issues are faced. This is the Alps Logistics style, an approach that leads us to optimal logistics for challenge resolution.

Finding solutions
hand-in-hand with customers

Each customer faces different issues and has different needs about logistics. Finding out the essence of these issues helps us to provide optimal solutions. Alps Logistics puts the customer first, which is why we are committed to truly listening to what the customer has to say and to proposing optimal logistics unique to each customer.
It's not always the case that the customer has a clear understanding of their logistics issues and needs. That's why Alps Logistics, as a logistics professional, insists on an approach where we first focus on understanding the true nature of the issues faced by the customer, then work hand-in-hand with the customer to resolve them.

Learning customer challenges as a logistics professional

Various improvements tied to
logistics functions

Alps Logistics has been engaged in logistics for monozukuri (manufacturing) for more than half a century, and we have worked with over 1,900 companies in Japan alone. The sophisticated expertise and ability to respond flexibly we have cultivated through this wealth of experience lies at proposal excellence.
Take warehousing services: we ascertain the Logistics Individuality unique to each product, then ensure appropriate storage conditions and freshness controls are implemented, such as temperature and humidity control and static electric control. We can also offer small-lot sorting and lot number management as part of our operations, refined through our experience with electronic components. Through our transport service we offer consolidated services exclusively for electronic components and devices, thereby enhancing transport quality. What's more, we can work on the customer's behalf to meet strict delivery specifications, for example the kanban system used with automotive electronics. In recent years, delivery destinations are increasingly reluctant to accept deliveries in cardboard boxes due to environmental concerns; in response, we offer both bespoke design and collection services for returnable boxes. Our logistics services go one step further by making improvements to work sites. At Alps Logistics, we aim to resolve logistics challenges that our customers weren't even aware they were facing.

Comprehensive solutions to
support production innovation

We don't simply aim for the optimization of a single process, but for total optimization. That's another factor of proposal excellence that only Alps Logistics can offer as an integrated logistics company. We pull together multiple logistics functions to show our customers how to achieve total supply chain optimization.
For example, through our warehouse operations we can offer piece control for electronic components, enabling us to supply assembly manufacturers with kitted delivery according to the components needed by each production line, as well as Just In Time Delivery. This means that delivery destinations need no space for component storage and can focus instead on production. Another example is our procurement logistics, for components and raw materials. We can offer vendor-managed inventory (VMI) services, where suppliers are responsible for inventory management, as well as buyer-managed inventory (BMI) services, where the buyer, in other words the assembly manufacturer or trading company, controls the inventory. Through EDI coordination between our warehouse management system (WMS), developed in-house, and the customer's core system, we can offer real-time inventory management, even when handling high-mix, low-volume cargo and high-frequency, low-volume cargo. This allows the customer to know what's happening with their inventories, even for remotely-located warehouses: it's as if they're right there checking the shelves.
At Alps Logistics, we strive to offer optimal solutions that contribute to the optimization of customer supply chains.
