Commitment to Quality

Quality that only Alps Logistics can aim to achieve

One of the strengths of Alps Logistics is the fact that we are so well versed in monozukuri (manufacturing). What should our logistics functions be in order to support production in our customers' plants? For more than half a century, Alps Logistics has been seeking to answer that question. We pride ourselves on being more committed to quality than any other logistics company.

Quality that only Alps Logistics,
deeply understanding the monozukuri,
can aim to achieve

Monozukuri (manufacturing) logistics is particularly unique. That's why it's not possible to satisfy customer needs simply by aiming to achieve efficiency in logistics functions. What's important is whether you have profound knowledge of monozukuri (manufacturing) and the extent to which you are able to prioritize the shipper's perspective.
Alps Logistics is part of Alps Alpine, a group manufacturing electronic components and automotive infotainment. The experience that we have built up over more than half a century of carrying out all logistics functions relating to procurement for manufacturers, production, and sales, leads directly into the depth of our understanding of monozukuri (manufacturing). For example, our approach to inventory control assumes that the volume of cargo will fluctuate according to market conditions. We're also prepped to handle delivery specifications that differ by delivery destination. We draw fully upon this know-how, refined by adopting a shipper's perspective, when offering our solutions and services. We are in tireless pursuit of a quality only Alps Logistics can achieve.

Our Logistics Individuality approach,
and the information systems and operational capabilities that make it a reality

Having been engaged in monozukuri (manufacturing) logistics for more than half a century, Alps Logistics is able to respond to customer needs through the integration of information systems and operational capabilities.
The delicate and complicated handling required by electronic components, such as semiconductors and precision devices, comes with unique characteristics. At Alps Logistics, we define these characteristics under what we call the Product Profile and Customer Profile, which together form what we call Logistics Individuality. We classify those characteristics and enter them into information systems. We have built an environment in which all data is centrally controlled and anyone can understand at any time what we should be doing and in what way, from receiving at warehouse to storage, through to distribution processing, shipping out, and transportation. No matter how outstanding a system, however, it means nothing without the operational capability to run it. That's why we also focus on improving our operational capabilities through training, so as to be able to take best advantage of our expertise and know-how. Information systems and operational capability. That's how we show our commitment to quality here at Alps Logistics.

An ongoing commitment to refining accuracy,
continuous improvement to commit the quality

Responding flexibly to customer requests. Providing a speedy service. The word “quality” has multiple different values. At Alps Logistics, we consider quality a priority, which is why we've worked so hard on refining accuracy.
Take inventory control accuracy, which is so important for monozukuri (manufacturing) logistics. ACCS, the information system we developed in-house, enables us to achieve efficient and high quality warehousing based on Logistics Individuality. What's more, by linking up ACCS with our customer's information system through EDI coordination, we can centrally control all information on warehouse status, from the moment of receiving cargo at an Alps Logistics warehouse to the moment of shipping out, together with all system information. This makes high-precision, real-time inventory control possible.
The same goes for transportation. We eliminate any lack of resilience towards delivery delays or errors, and instead pursue unquestionable quality without compromise. Each one of the some 700 Alps Logistics trucks in Japan operates on fixed schedule, fixed-route basis, meaning that they cover the same route in the same time, day-in, day-out. Our operational information and tracking system are closely linked, allowing us to understand where every single piece of cargo is at any given time and enabling us to support our customers in achieving the accurate implementation of production schedules and time management.
Alps Logistics can offer a high-precision yet flexible response, as well as a speedy service. We will continue to challenge ourselves to improve the quality of our service.
